River Landing Dentistry team at the 2026 Hygiene Symposium in Myrtle Beach

On October 9 and 10, part of the River Landing Dentistry team traveled to Myrtle Beach for the 2026 Hygiene Symposium. It was two days of learning and connecting with hygiene professionals from across South Carolina, and our team was proud to take part as a Silver sponsor of the event, hosted by the South Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association.

Events like this one matter to us because hygiene is at the center of the care our patients receive. Every cleaning, screening, and conversation about home care starts with a hygienist, so investing in our hygiene team is one of the most direct ways we can invest in our patients.

Learning Alongside South Carolina’s Hygiene Community

A portion of our hygiene team spent the symposium in the seminar rooms, sitting in on the educational sessions. One of the sessions our team attended focused on periodontitis and the role of locally delivered antimicrobials in treating gum disease, a topic that connects directly to the care we provide every day. Here at River Landing, localized antibiotic therapy is part of how we help patients manage gum disease, so it was valuable for our hygienists to spend time on it with their peers.

Continuing education keeps our clinical team sharp, but it also brings fresh ideas back to our offices. When our hygienists return from an event like this, they bring home new perspectives on everything from oral hygiene coaching to gum health, and those conversations carry into the treatment room. Our patients benefit from a team that keeps learning, and our hygienists benefit from time spent with colleagues who share their passion for the work.

The symposium also gave our team a chance to spend time together outside of the office. The group also gathered for photos in front of the event’s “We Are The Beach” sign, a fun reminder that some of the best team moments happen away from the daily schedule.

Meeting Hygienists at Our Sponsor Booth

While part of our team attended the seminars, Zara, our Director of Recruiting, and Heather, our Director of Operations, worked the River Landing Dentistry sponsor booth. At booth #10, they met with attendees, answered questions about our practice, and shared what it is like to be part of our team.

Our booth message was simple: “A hygiene team that has your back.” Our booth materials highlighted the things our team values most, including work-life balance, a supportive team, and hands-on growth, along with a clear note that we’re hiring. At River Landing, we describe our mission as positively influencing people by providing compassionate dental care, and our approach to building our team follows the same idea: Focus. Collaborate. Grow.

Being a Silver sponsor gave us the chance to support the hygiene community in South Carolina while also connecting with professionals who might one day join us. We were proud to see our name alongside the other organizations that helped make the event possible.
