Dr. Otto Czechner is a highly trained periodontist dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal oral health through advanced gum care and implant dentistry. With specialized expertise in both non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, he plays an important role in restoring the health, function, and foundation of patients’ smiles.
Dr. Czechner provides a wide range of periodontal services, including gum disease treatment, soft tissue grafting, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, surgical extractions, and dental implant placement, including full-arch implant rehabilitation. His approach focuses on preserving natural structures whenever possible while delivering long-term, stable results.
He is also certified in IV moderate sedation, helping ensure a more comfortable and stress-free experience for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Education & Advanced Treatment
Dr. Czechner earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of South Carolina, where he developed a strong foundation in health sciences and patient care.
He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by advanced specialty training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, where he earned his Certificate in Periodontics.
During his residency, Dr. Czechner served as Chief Resident, gaining extensive experience in advanced periodontal and implant procedures, including both simple and complex surgical techniques.
Professional Memberships & Recognition
Dr. Czechner is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and remains committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in periodontal care and implant dentistry.
He was also honored as a recipient of the Thomas P. Hinman Research Award, recognizing his research focused on improving methods for evaluating and monitoring oral soft tissue healing after surgery.
Dr. Czechner maintains BLS and ACLS certifications, ensuring the highest level of patient safety during treatment.
Life Outside the Office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Czechner enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He is an avid tennis player and golfer and enjoys following both South Carolina and Nebraska athletics.
